CDP, saved state & AI browser workflows

AdsCrawl vs Browserbase

Both support remote Chromium automation. Compare how you create and release sessions, preserve login state and retrieve content, then decide which browser and AI workflow fits your application.

AdsCrawl Cloud Browser brings AdsPower fingerprint browsers to the cloud: native fingerprints, isolated environments and updates that follow AdsPower.

Powered by AdsPower

Why choose AdsCrawl Cloud Browser

Use AdsPower fingerprint browsers as saved cloud environments for recurring tasks, with an API to create, start and stop each profile.

Native fingerprints from AdsPower

Cloud Browser runs AdsPower fingerprint browsers with real native browser fingerprints, bringing AdsPower’s browser technology directly to your cloud workflows.

An isolated environment for every profile

Give each task or account its own browser environment, with separate fingerprint settings and browser state. Save and reuse profiles for recurring work.

Browser updates that follow AdsPower

Cloud Browser follows AdsPower fingerprint browser version updates, bringing ongoing browser-engine and fingerprint improvements to your cloud environments.

Choose for the workflow

When to consider AdsCrawl

  • You want AdsPower fingerprint browsers in Cloud Browser, with native fingerprints, isolated profiles and updates that follow AdsPower. API-key starts require your proxy; runtime requires a paid plan.
  • You have Playwright or Puppeteer scripts and want an explicit create, connect and delete lifecycle for temporary Remote CDP sessions.
  • You need rendered HTML, readable article Markdown, named DOM/network fields or PNG through dedicated HTTP endpoints.

When to consider Browserbase

  • Your application needs embedded Live View for human handoff and session recordings for investigating failed runs.
  • You want to combine Stagehand’s AI actions and extraction with code that controls the workflow.
  • You want lightweight Fetch for pages that do not need JavaScript, alongside browser sessions for interactive tasks.

These recommendations follow the documented capabilities below; they do not imply the other provider cannot perform the same task.

CDP & automation clients

Create a temporary Remote CDP session, connect a compatible Chromium client such as Playwright or Puppeteer, then delete the session when finished.

AdsCrawl reference

Create a Session to obtain connectUrl. Playwright connects with chromium.connectOverCDP; Puppeteer uses browserWSEndpoint. These documented paths use Chromium CDP.

Running sessions & cleanup

Temporary CDP uses explicit session deletion. Cloud Browser uses a separate start/stop lifecycle; closing its viewer alone does not stop runtime billing.

AdsCrawl reference

Paid-plan keepAlive retains a running session after disconnection, within its timeout. End it explicitly with REQUEST_RELEASE; disconnected idle time still consumes browser usage.

Saved browser state

Cloud Browser stop retains its saved profile for a later start. This profile workflow is separate from temporary Remote CDP sessions.

AdsCrawl reference

Contexts save user data such as cookies, localStorage and IndexedDB across sessions. persist: true writes changes at session end; allow synchronization before reuse. Contexts do not include the ordinary HTTP cache.

Contexts

Proxy routing

Cloud Browser runtime requires a paid plan and an explicit valid proxy on each API-key start. Temporary CDP and browser tasks also offer managed routing.

AdsCrawl reference

Browser sessions on Developer and higher plans support managed residential proxies and external HTTP/HTTPS proxies. Proxies are off by default; geographic routing is best effort. Configure routing for your chosen session.

Browser proxies

HTML, Markdown & fields

POST /html uses a browser to return rendered HTML or Readability article Markdown/JSON. POST /spa-extract returns named DOM/network fields or template output; these are different extraction contracts.

AdsCrawl reference

Fetch returns raw content, Markdown or schema-guided JSON in its response. It does not execute JavaScript. Use browser sessions when the content requires rendering or interaction.

AI workflow layer

Use browser task endpoints or temporary CDP as tools in your application. Your agent code controls planning, tool calls, validation and retries.

AdsCrawl reference

Stagehand provides act, extract and observe for code-orchestrated AI steps. Browserbase also documents a separate hosted Agents API with asynchronous runs and optional result schemas.

Screenshots & visibility

POST /screenshot returns PNG bytes synchronously. A running Cloud Browser may return an interactive viewer URL that requires its owner’s login session.

Capture screenshots through the connected browser. Embed Live View for human interaction, and use the Session Inspector and replay to investigate a run’s browser, network and log activity.

Billing & limits

Compare plan credits, browser concurrency, saved-profile limits and API-key limits. Include runtime cleanup in your estimate and explicitly stop Cloud Browser when finished.

AdsCrawl reference

Browser time and managed proxy traffic have separate meters. Raw Fetch and Markdown/JSON extraction (Fetch Extract) have different per-call prices. Include model or agent usage for AI workflows, and check plan allowances, overages and concurrency.

Trace a complete browser task

  1. Test the connection and cleanup

Run the same Chromium script through each provider’s documented connection method. Exercise reconnects and failures, then confirm the runtime has ended. Treat client disconnection, session release and profile deletion as separate operations.

  2. Restart with the state you need

Use a test account to complete a login, end the runtime and start a new one using the saved state. Check cookies and application storage after the save has completed. Plan for the target site to expire or revoke authentication.

  3. Compare output and total usage

Include both server-rendered and JavaScript-dependent pages. Check the fields, Markdown and screenshots your application needs. Record browser time, proxy traffic and any Fetch or model usage against current prices; equal request counts do not imply equal costs.

Common questions

Is Browserbase the same as Stagehand?

No. Browserbase provides hosted browser and platform APIs. Stagehand is an open-source automation SDK that can use local or Browserbase browsers. Its act, extract and observe methods help you combine AI steps with code. A Stagehand deployment and the Browserbase cloud platform are different scopes.

Can I migrate by changing only the CDP URL?

Treat that as the connection step, not the whole migration. Check authentication, context creation, timeout, state persistence and cleanup. Stagehand has additional runtime requirements; CDP availability alone does not establish compatibility with every Stagehand version.

Which provider costs less for the same automation?

Measure the complete task first. Browser runtime, idle sessions, proxy traffic, output formats and optional AI steps can change the result. Compare successful outputs against current plan terms; this page does not establish a price, speed or success-rate winner.
