01 / HOW IT WORKS

One website. A whole category to explore.

AdsCrawl Similar Websites uses a large language model to understand what a website does, then searches the web in real time to find related businesses. Use it as a competitor finder in the console, or connect the Similar Websites API to your research workflow. Each result pairs a website with a match score to help you decide what to explore next.

  1. 01

    Understand the business

Enter a website URL. An AI model analyzes the site's business to establish what kinds of websites would be relevant.

  2. 02

    Search the live web

Search engines discover websites with related businesses, helping you find alternatives and competitors beyond the names you already know.

  3. 03

    Review relevant matches

Receive up to eight recommendations ranked by relevance. Review their websites and match scores, then select the candidates worth investigating.

02 / USE CASES

Your market goes beyond the names you know.

Build a broader watchlist for market research, product positioning and growth decisions. Find emerging brands and alternative solutions worth a closer look.

Discover competitors you haven't considered

Start with your own site or a known competitor and find businesses in the same space. Build a shortlist of potential rivals to investigate, including names outside your existing watchlist.

Explore alternatives and adjacent markets

Find similar websites when researching a product category, evaluating alternatives or mapping a market. Visit each candidate to compare its positioning and offering against your needs.

Keep your research list current

Connect the API to your own recurring research process. Refresh the candidate list, then combine discovery with web scraping to investigate competitors' pricing, product updates and campaigns.

03 / FROM DISCOVERY TO A WATCHLIST

Keep your competitor list moving with the market.

Call the Similar Websites API from your scheduler to refresh your watchlist. Pair discovery with page capture to follow product, pricing and public campaign changes, giving your team time to review and respond.

Use web scraping to collect public pricing, product-release and campaign pages from the websites you select.

  3. 03

    Compare what changed

Store page snapshots in your own system and compare versions to identify changes in offers, features and messaging.

  4. 04

Send relevant changes through your team's own notification workflow. Use the evidence to inform product, marketing and customer-retention decisions.

04 / STRUCTURED OUTPUT

Review comparison results and download JSON in the console, or use the API to receive the target profile, recommended websites and match scores.

Relevance match scorecandidates[].score
A match score shown out of 100 in the console. Use it to prioritize review; it is not a search ranking or a measure of market share.

Match scores help prioritize relevant candidates for review. They do not measure market share, traffic or product quality.

05 / API INTEGRATION

Try one URL. Build it into your workflow.

Enter a website in the Similar websites console, review the recommendations, then open Integration details to copy the request. Use the same endpoint in your research tools, scheduled jobs and internal systems.

Open Similar websites
POST /similar-sites
curl --fail-with-body -X POST 'https://api.adscrawl.net/similar-sites' \
  -H 'x-api-key: <YOUR_API_KEY>' \
  -H 'content-type: application/json' \
  -d '{
  "url": "https://www.adspower.com/",
  "timeoutMs": 45000
}'

Replace <YOUR_API_KEY> with your API key and call the endpoint from your server. The example sets timeoutMs to 45,000 milliseconds.

06 / FAQ

About finding similar websites

How does AdsCrawl find similar websites?

A large language model first analyzes the target website's business. Search engines then discover related websites in real time, and the results are ranked by relevance to help you choose where to investigate further.

What does the match score mean?

The console displays a relevance match score out of 100 for each recommended website. It helps prioritize your review; it does not represent market share, a search-engine position or proof that a site is a direct competitor.

How many recommendations will I receive?

The tool returns up to eight recommendations ranked by relevance. Treat the results as a research shortlist, rather than an exhaustive list of every business in the market.

What does the Similar Websites API return?

The response includes the target website's URL, title, description and logo reference, plus candidate websites with their URLs, titles and match scores. Call POST /similar-sites with the target URL and your API key to integrate discovery into your application.

Can I use this API for ongoing competitor monitoring?

Yes. Schedule discovery in your own system, store the results, then use web scraping to collect selected competitors' pages. Comparing those snapshots can surface pricing changes, product releases and campaigns for your team's own alerts. The discovery response itself identifies websites; it does not contain those change reports.

Can I export results without writing code?

Yes. Use the console to enter a website, review the recommendations and choose Download JSON. When you are ready to integrate, the Integration details panel provides a cURL request example.
